Hundreds of Kaunas children to receive free programming lessons for full academic year
Hundreds of children in Lithuania’s second city, Kaunas, will be learning and practicing programming throughout the next academic year thanks to Devbridge Group’s Sourcery for Kids initiative. Through this initiative, Devbridge Group, a US-based provider of programming services with a division in Lithuania, will provide free basic training in programming to 7-12 year-old children in Kaunas. More than 200 children will be enrolled, with the programme lasting throughout the academic year. More

Vilnius Has Been Added to UNESCO’s World Heritage Journey Romantic Europe
An agreement to collaborate on creating and executing a thematic Vilnius itinerary, which will be a part of the UNESCO project World Heritage Journeys in the European Union, was signed in Vilnius. Reflecting on the importance of this agreement, Lithuania’s Deputy State Minister of Economy Ramūnas Burokas says, “Lithuania is the only Baltic country UNESCO has invited to become a part of the thematic itinerary Romantic Europe, which unites several European Union countries. This project is significant in promoting the name of our country together with other countries’ and their UNESCO Heritage Sites. Thanks to this initiative, tourist attractions in Vilnius will be advertised in such faraway markets as China or USA.” More
Focus on cooperation with Baltic countries at the Odessa Film Festival
The Baltic Focus events dedicated to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia launched within the programme of the industry days of the International Odessa Film Festival. During the discussion “Opportunities of cooperation with Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia” representatives of the national film agencies from all three countries will present the film funding mechanisms put in place in their countries, share good practice. With the cultural ties between Lithuania and Ukraine strengthening during the past several years, film industries of both countries are seeking and finding partners for joint projects, and a number of co-productions have been launched.
