Lithuania Up Two Positions in PwC and World Bank’s Paying Taxes Report

Lithuania has jumped two places to 27th globally in the 2017 Paying Taxes report, issued by the World Bank Group and PwC. The report ranks countries based on the ease of paying taxes, and this year’s report has an added criterion – post-filing. More

Lithuania is to attract IT, business process outsourcing, financial and other services enterprises to free economic zones (FEZs). Due to decision of Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania capital investment of service companies will have to exceed EUR 100 000 and employ at least 20 full time employees to receive incentives, representative of Invest Lithuania told Baltic-course.

Small service enterprises operating in free economic zones (FEZs) and fitting capital investment and employment requirements will be also allowed not to pay income tax for six years. Before the amendment to the law, companies in order to get FEZ tax incentives, have to invest at least EUR 1 mln.

After a due initial incentives period, companies, which qualified for corporate tax exemption, will be able to pay reduced income tax by half for another 10 years. More

New investment to accelerate development of Lithuanian robotics company

Rubedo Sistemos, a Lithuanian Robotics developer, has received half a million Euros in investment from venture capital company Practica Capital. The new investment will enable the company, which specialises in mobile robotics and unmanned air mission control solutions, to accelerate its product development and roll out. More

This year the kindness campaign “Let’s meet up over coffee” to start in Vilnius will include theatre performances to entertain seniors

It is on November 25 that the16th kindness campaign for the seniors “Let’s meet up over coffee” will start in Vilnius. The senior residents of Vilnius are invited by the Vilnius Mayor Remigijus Šimašius to have a treat of free coffee or tea in the cafés taking part in the campaign. The Lithuanian National Drama Theatre (LNDT) that joined the campaign partners this year will offer special price tickets to the senior citizens. Moreover, on the campaign opening occasion it will invite them to a free performance. The campaign “Let’s meet up over coffee” will be held every Sunday from November 27 to January 8. More
