Lithuania opens its Honorary Consulate in Turku

On 23 October, the 3d Honorary Consulate of Lithuania in Finland was officially opened in Turku. Lithuanian and Polish officials hold political consultations, adjust positions on EU and NATO issues

On 25 October, the political consultations between the Lithuanian and Polish Foreign Ministries’ Political Directors – Asta Skaisgirytė and Witold Sobków – were held in Vilnius. Thousands of Jewish documents lost during the Holocaust discovered

A trove of 170,000 Jewish documents thought to have been destroyed by the Nazis during World War II has been found. The New York-based YIVO Institute for Jewish Research announced the find, which contains unpublished manuscripts by famous Yiddish writers as well as religious and community documents. Among the finds are letters written by Sholem Aleichem, a postcard by Marc Chagall, and poems and manuscripts by Chaim Grade. More

 

Embassy of Lithuania organized the annual basketball tournament

The 14th Ambassador’s Cup Basketball Tournament, organized by the Embassy of Lithuania together with Lithuanian Athletic Union of North America took place in Fort Washington, Maryland on October 21st. This year’s Tournament was dedicated to the Year of Sport in Lithuania. More
